Counselling in Vancouver for support specializing in Trauma, Substance use, Family/Relationships and Grief.
Welcome and thanks for visiting my site. I’d be happy to share a bit about my work as a Therapist and my journey along the way. I’ve been working in the field of Counselling in Vancouver and the lower mainland for over 20 years. I started out as a Youth Counsellor working with at risk youth struggling with substance misuse, complex trauma, homelessness and exploitation in the DTES. I continued working with youth, adults and families as I pursued my Masters in Counselling Psychology, which I completed in 2008. Since then, I have been registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
During that time, I witnessed a lot of suffering and much of that due to the various forms of trauma, marginalization and disconnection people have experienced. As a result, I’ve dedicated years of training to support clients with healing from these experiences in order to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives.
I’ve worked with folks from a diverse range of lived experiences and I strive to practice from an inclusive and social justice orientation. In my work, I’ve provided clinical counselling in numerous settings including public health, non-profit agencies, community and residential substance use programs, with EAP providers and in my own private practice.
I’ve been fortunate to have many teachers along the way, mostly being my clients.
